Ozamiz City Vice Mayor Parojinog questioned in Camp Crame; asks President Duterte to investigate Ozamiz shooting

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Ozamiz City Vice-Mayor Nova Parojinog is now being questioned at the Philippine National Police Custodial Center in Camp Crame where she is undergoing booking procedures before undergoing inquest proceedings at the Department of Justice.

Parojinog is asking President Rodrigo Duterte to investigate the shooting incident between the slain mayor’s men and the police.

“I am asking President Duterte to investigate this and the Senate of the Philippines,” Parojinog said.

According to Parojinog, their security did not fire at the police who went to their home to serve a search warrant.

But the police said it was the Parijinogs and their men who started shooting at them, when they entered the Parojinog compound to serve the search warrant.

“So while we are serving [the] search warrant going to the residence of Mayor Aldong Parojinog nagkataon na ‘yong putukan,” said Chief Insp. Jovie Espenido, Ozamiz chief of police.

The shooting incident resulted in the death of Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog Sr., his wife Susan Parojinog, Board Member Ricardo Parojinog and 12 others.
