Over 300 stranded in various ports due to Northeast Monsoon

Rough sea condition caused by a Northeast Monsoon has stranded a total of 352 passengers in various ports nationwide, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Wednesday morning.

Those stranded include 28 rolling cargoes; 40 vessels and 34 motorbancas.

A rundown of those stranded include:

Palawan – 122 passengers, 4 motorbancas

Western Visayas – 2 passengers, 1 motorbanca

Central Visayas – 165 passengers, 28 rolling cargoes, 39 vessels, 24 motorbancas

Bicol – 58 passengers, 3 motorbancas

Eastern Visayas – 1 vessel

State-run weather bureau PAGASA earlier predicted that the Northeast Monsoon will affect areas in Luzon and Visayas.

There will also be moderate to strong winds blowing from the northeast will prevail over the whole archipelago with moderate to rough seas. (PNA)
