Napoles’ lawyer says he met with ES Medialdea, Aguirre in Malacañang to discuss next steps

(Eagle News)– The lawyer of Janet Lim Napoles on Monday said he met with Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre and Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea after she was provisionally admitted to the Witness Protection Program.

“Ang pinag-usapan namin whether or not magfa-file ba siya (Napoles) ng motion (seeking her transfer to the Department of Justice),” Stephen David told reporters in the Sandiganbayan, where he attended a hearing on their urgent motion.

According to David, prior to the meeting in Malacanang, his plan was to have Napoles transferred to “a secure facility and later on just inform the court that we did this..”

“Pero sabi nga nila, sabi ni ES, nag-meeting kami concerning after na-admit siya, ang sabi nila, kailangan kang mag-file ng motion,” David said.

The DOJ said Napoles was placed under provisional coverage of the WPP effective February.

It said it was still assessing Napoles’ recent affidavit on the pork barrel scam before determining whether she would be given full coverage.
