EXPECT the return of brisk Chinese tourist arrivals in the country, after China lifted all travel advisories to the Philippines which previously discouraged its citizens from coming the country.

The announcement on the lifting of the travel advisories was made by Chinese president Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing, amid the four-day state visit of Philippine president Rodrigo Duterte to China which saw the two leaders cementing their brotherly ties. It was announced shortly after the signing of 13 bilateral agreements of cooperation between the two countries

The travel advisories against the Philippines were issued by China to its citizens in September 2014 after a bomb threat at the Chinese embassy in Manila.

Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Liu Zhenmin said in a press conference in Beijing that the lift of the travel advisories will mean the return of Chinese tourists and businessmen to the Philippines. (Eagle News Service)
