(Eagle News) — There will be no number-coding scheme in place on Wednesday.
In a Twitter post on Tuesday, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority said this was to “help commuters that might be affected by the transport strike..” slated on that day.
The MMDA was referring to the strike to be held by the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide.
The strike was in protest of the “Tanggal Bulok, Tanggal Usok” campaign of the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic that aims to rid the streets of smoke-belching jeepneys.
According to the MMDA, the lifting of the number-coding scheme applies to all vehicles, both public and private.
