Misfiring Gilas bows to Korea

(Eagle News) –A misfiring Gilas Pilipinas bowed to Korea on Wednesday night, ending a winning streak that saw them defeat a number of teams in the Jones Cup.

The Korean team held a solid lead over the Philippine contingent by the end of the third quarter, their lead going to as high as 15 points.

Gilas managed to cut down the lead in the last quarter despite a below par outside shooting, with Mike Myers doing most of the inside job, but that wasn’t enough for the Philippine team to bring home the bacon.

The final score was 72-83.

Gilas is set to face the Iraqis in their next game.
