Masbate town mayor, vice mayor face raps after raids in their house, resort yield guns, explosives

(Eagle News)—Charges are slated to be filed against the mayor and vice mayor of a town in Masbate after raids of their residence and resort yielded firearms and explosives.

The charges for illegal possession of the same are slated to be filed against Batuan Mayor Charmax Jan Yuson and his father, Vice Mayor Charlie Yuson III, who were not in  the mayor’s house nor in the Yuson Beach Resort when the searches were conducted there on Wednesday, Feb. 13.

The raids were set by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, following a tip from a concerned citizen the father-and-son tandem had a private army.

Recovered from the structures were a “baby armalite” rifle with a magazine loaded with three bullets, two 12 gauge shotguns and a hand grenade, among others.
