(Eagle News) — The ten accused in the death of University of Sto. Tomas law student Horacio Castillo III have been ordered transferred to the Manila City Jail.

The order to transfer Arvin Balag, Mhin Wei Chan, Axel Munro Hipe, Oliver John Audrey Onofre, Joshua Joriel Macabali, Ralph Trangia, Robin Ramos, Jose Miguel Salamat, Danielle Hans Mattew Rodrigo, and Marcelino Bagtang was issued by the Manila Regional Trial Court Branch 20.

The ten have been currently detained in the National Bureau of Investigation detention facility since they surrendered on March 23.

In issuing the order, which was to be implemented by the NBI jail warden within 48 hours upon receipt, the court said the NBI facility was “neither a police station nor a jail.”

Castillo died from injuries believed sustained from hazing rites conducted by the Aegis Juris fraternity in September last year.
