LPA east of Northern Luzon develops into tropical depression

Scattered rain showers to prevail over Calabarzon, Camarines Norte due to trough of TD “Gardo”

(Eagle News) — The low pressure area east of extreme Northern Luzon has developed into a tropical depression.

According to the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration’s weather update, however, no tropical cyclone wind signals are so far in effect because of Tropical Depression “Gardo” estimated  1,195 km east of that portion of Northern Luzon.

“Gardo” is so far packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 70 kph.

It is moving west southwestward at 15 kph.

CALABARZON, and Camarines Norte, however, will have cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the trough of “Gardo.”

Flash floods or landslides due to scattered light to moderate to at times heavy rains are possible.

Metro Manila and the rest of the country, meanwhile, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.

PAGASA said Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will have light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
