(Reuters) — Commuters rejoyce! A vehicle traveling above a central reservation line may become the fastest way to travel by public transport in the future.

Dahir Semenov, a Turkish engineer of Russian origin and his team have come up with a new concept – a two wheel, gyroscopic vehicle travelling along a suspended monorail. Dahir’s team of twenty engineers have in the past designed futuristic buses and trains and the team is currently working on a novel design of a fire engine.

“I don’t have the slightest doubt that this mode of transportation will supercede buses, trams, and trolleybuses in the cities of the future. It has huge potential to provide efficient, economic, safe, environmentally friendly and comfortable transportation,” Dahir said in a comment on his social media website.

Dahir said that gyroscopic monorail was not a new invention. Scientists have been experimenting with the solution for over a hundered years.

“Now is time to renew this idea and implement it in real life. If everything goes according to plan, in 2020 fans at big international sports competitions will be able to see and ride, perhaps for free, urban gyro monorail trains, the transport of the future.”
