(Eagle News)–A 3.1-magnitude earthquake struck Surigao del Norte on Thursday, Aug. 15.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said the quake, of tectonic origin, hit 63 kilometers northeast of Burgos at 9:18 p.m.
The depth of focus of the quake was 3 kilometers.
No damage to property nor aftershocks were recorded.
