Judiciary prioritizes resolution of drug cases

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The judiciary will prioritize the speedy disposition of drug cases, with all regional trial courts now being considered as drug courts.  This means trial courts can now try drug cases.

Supreme Court Deputy Court Administrator Raul Villanueva said this during his presentation in the budget hearing of the Judiciary in the House of Representatives.

Atty. Villanueva explained that the administration’s fight against illegal drugs is also the fight of the entire nation; thus, he said that the Judiciary will also take part in the administration’s fight against illegal drugs.
