(Eagle News)–Industrialist and entrepreneur John Gokongwei Jr. has passed away.
Quoting a text message from his son Lance, Esquire Philippines reported Gokongwei passed away at the Manila Doctors Hospital at the age of 93 on Saturday night, at 11:41 p.m.
The publication did not cite a cause of death.
Gokongwei Jr. founded the JG Summit Holdings Inc., one of the country’s biggest business conglomerates, and Robinsons Retail Holdings Inc.
He was named the third richest man in 2019, with a net worth of $5.3 billion.
