(Eagle News)–Commission on Elections spokesperson James Jimenez on Monday, May 13, said there was no failure of elections anywhere in the country.
Jimenez made the declaration even as 400 to 600 vote-counting machines were reported to have malfunctioned.
Earlier, Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde said all 36,831 polling centers in the country opened for the conduct of the midterm elections after all.
He said the six polling centers in Lanao del Sur, which he earlier said had not been opened, opened their doors to voters later in the day.
He said he received the update from the regional director in the area.
“So walang di nabukas na polling center nationwide,” he said.
