A child is an important asset of the nation, that is why the government exerts full efforts to promote children’s welfare and enhance their opportunities for a happy life. There is even a week dedicated to celebrating the rights and responsibilities of children. Late President Diosdado Macapagal made this the fourth week of January of every year pursuant to Proclamation No. 190.
