Hear Ye! Hear Ye!

But ironically, what we love can also be the cause of harm. Listening to music too loudly, especially while using earphones, can lead to permanent ear damage.

Here are some important tips and guidance to re-evaluate your habits so as to avoid doing damage to your ears:

  • Throw away those cotton buds, experts say that cleaning the ears with tissue paper instead is more helpful.  Also, earwax serves as a protection to the ear canal, that’s why cleaning too often can do more harm than good. At least 3 times a week is enough to maintain cleanliness.

  • If you have earrings, it is highly recommended to clean them regularly. You should also try out hypo-allergenic accessories to avoid infection, especially for those that have sensitive skin.

  • Avoid listening to music in a loud volume. As much as possible do not buy earphones that totally cover your ears because of the damage it can cause.
