EBC named Best Media Broadcasting Corporation by Golden Globe Annual Awards, as DZEC Radyo Agila sweeps DOST’s Bantog Media awards for radio

 

(Eagle News) — Eagle Broadcasting Corporation was named as “Best Media Broadcasting Company” for 2018 by the Golden Globe Annual Awards for Business Excellence on Friday, Sept. 28, citing its excellence in innovative business practices and reputable ethical image.

In awarding ceremonies at the Mania Hotel, EBC president Rowena dela Fuente Deimoy received the prestigious award from the Golden Globe Awards Council which meticulously screened all nominees based on its criteria for excellence.

On the same day, EBC’s Radyo Agila achieved a sweep of the Department of Science and Technology’s Bantog Media Awards for Radio this year in ceremonies at the Philippine International Convention Center on Friday night.

Aside from being named as the institutional awardee for Radio by the prestigious award giving body, EBC’s AM radio station, DZEC 1062 Radyo Agila also clinched the first, second and third places for the Professional Awards for Radio of DOST’s Bantog Media Awards.

DZEC Radyo Agila Station Manager Laila Tumanan received the DOST Bantog institutional media award for radio on behalf of EBC’s AM station.

DZEC Radyo Agila’s Dr. Custer Deocaris, currently the head of the Research Management Division at the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) in the Philippines, received the first place in the Bantog Media Awards for Radio, while Dr. Josephine Agapito, an associate professor of the University of the Philippines Manila’s College of Science, clinched the second place.  Both are hosts of the DZEC’s science program, “Pinoy Scientist.”

Completing the sweep was DZEC Radyo Agila’s Annabelle Surara who won third place.

Both Radyo Agila’s Dr. Deocaris and Surara were also previous winners of the Ulat SIPAG awards for broadcast category of the Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic and Natural Resources Research and Development of the Department of Science and Technology (DOST-PCAARRD).

Dr. Deocaris won first place in PCAARD’s Ulat SIPAG awards, while Surara won second place in the same category last June 22.

EBC’s latest harvest of media awards in various fields happened as it was celebrating its golden year this 2018.

The management of EBC thanked the Golden Globe Awards Council and the Department of Science and Technology for the various awards it had garnered on Friday.

It vowed to further serve the public in its commitment towards excellence in broadcast and media communications in its various portals namely television station NET 25, DZEC Radyo Agila, Pinas FM 95.5, eaglenews.ph news website and eaglenewslive.com, and E25 records.

The Golden Globe Annual Awards for Business Excellence is a joint undertaking of National Data Research Examiner and Marketing Services Inc., SINAG News Magazine and SINAG Foundation.
The awardees for Business Excellence are institutions, companies, corporations and organizations that exemplified exceptional excellence through their products, services and business objectives

The award giving body which is now on its 11th year aims to give recognition and uplift the value of excellence in business industry and prominent personalities.

The 2018 Bantog: The Science for the People Media Awards, on the other hand is given by the DOST in recognition of the important role of media practitioners – print, radio, TV, and online – who made important contributions in the promotion of science and technology information in the country.

For this year, Business Mirror won the Bantog Media institutional award for print, EBC’s Radyo Agila won the institutional award for radio, Panahon TV bagged the institutional award for television, and GMA Social Media Section won the institutional award for Cyber Press.  (Eagle News Service)
