Government to tax 13th month pay of government employees

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Based on the Comprehensive Tax Reform Plan of the Duterte administration, which will amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1997, the 13th month pay of government employees, will be taxed.

House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee chairman Congressman Dakila Cua said that although the 13th month pay will be taxed, there are still substantial exemptions for those receiving up to Php 250, 000 per year. Cua added that the tax measure is only a proposal and is still awaiting filing in the House of Representatives.
