(Eagle News) — Senate blue ribbon committee chair Richard Gordon on Thursday, Nov. 22, moved to cite in contempt several individuals who did not show up in his panel’s hearing on the P6.8-billion shabu shipment that slipped past the Bureau of Customs last year.
Among those to be cited in contempt were former Senior Supt. Eduardo Acierto, Emily Laquingan, SMYD Trading owner Marina Signapan and sacked Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Deputy Director General for Administration Ismael Fajardo.
According to Gordon, he sent out notices to all four individuals but “they have not been showing up.”
“We can’t allow them to run circles around us,” he said.
