Go on SEA Games issue: Stop the blaming, let’s help each other instead

(Eagle News) — Senator Bong Go on Wednesday, Nov. 7, urged Filipinos to help each other instead of pointing fingers, amid some issues hounding the country’s hosting of the Southeast Asian Games.

In a statement, Go lamented how many Filipinos were rejoicing “for the wrong reasons.”

“Pumapalakpak dahil gusto nila tayong pumalpak,” Go said.

In the first place, he said the organizers led by Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano were working “double time” and doing everything they can to fix problems.

He said President Rodrigo Duterte was “very concerned,” and was, together with the senator, watching out for any development.

“Wala nang mangyayari kung magsisihan pa tayo,” Go said, adding that Filipinos needed to applaud the country’s athletes to “cheer them up and support them” instead.

“Tulungan nalang po tayo. Sanay tayo sa bayanihan. Ceasefire muna tayo, ‘wag mag-away ang mga opisyales. Nakatutok lahat sa atin. Huwag natin hayaang pumalpak ito. Lahat tayo ay hosts dito,” he said.
