(Eagle News)–President Rodrigo Duterte sustained minor injuries after figuring in a motorcycle accident on Wednesday, Senator Bong Go said.
In a televised interview with reporters, Go said the President hit his elbow as he rode a motorcycle in the Presidential Security Group compound.
“Si Pangulo ay mahilig talagang magmotor. Sa sobrang hilig niya, di niya natiis na magmotor sa compound ng PSG at sinakyan niya, sabi niya miss na niya motor..Unang motor mababa, pangalawang motor na mataas, pagliko niya sa parking, sobrang taas at sobrang bigat, natungkod ang kanyang siko,” Go narrated.
He said “medyo sumakit ang kanyang balakang.”
“After niya sumemplang kahapon sabi niya di ko matiis na di ako magmotor. Sabi ko scooter nalang tayo, scooter walang clutch,” Go said.
He said the President was now resting in the Palace.
Go said the President would have a checkup later on to determine if anything was broken.
“At his age, sana walang nafracture,” Go said.
He said the President would “hopefully” be able to attend his engagement at 5 p.m.
