GMA Network “deeply mourns” passing of veteran actor Eddie Garcia

(Eagle News) –GMA Network on Thursday, June 20, said it “deeply mourns” the passing of veteran actor Eddie Garcia.

The Garcia family spokesperson, Dr. Tony Rebosa, said the actor passed away due to complications from a neck fracture.

Garcia had sustained the fracture after reportedly tripping on a wire during taping of an upcoming GMA-7 series “Rosang Agimat.”

The actor had been in a coma since the incident took place on June 8.

According to the network, “‘Manoy,’ as he is fondly called, will be greatly missed by his family, loved ones, co-workers, and fans.”

The network called Garcia “an accomplished and respected actor and director,” and “a movie icon and an industry pillar who has touched so many lives in the Philippine entertainment industry.”

“He left behind a legacy of professionalism, dedication, and love for his craft,” GMA said.

“The Kapuso Network joins his family and the whole entertainment industry in mourning his passing,” it added.
