GMA asks SC’s permission to vote

QUEZON City, Philippines – Former President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo filed a petition to the Supreme Court to allow her to go to Pampanga and exercise her right to vote. According to the motion filed by her camp, Arroyo asked that she be allowed to leave the Veterans Memorial Medical Center and that the Commission on Elections recognizes the right of prisoners to vote and that she retains her right to vote because said right is denied only to those who were convicted. Arroyo is under hospital arrest due to the plunder case filed against her.
