(Eagle News Entertainment) — One of the best voices in the Philippine music is Apple Chiu.
She embodies the versatility of an artist. Her journey from Philippine Idol to Pinas FM is worth recounting. I recently met with Apple right after her DJ gig at Pinas FM and she looked fashionable with positive vibes.
While getting to know her up close and personal at the start of the nterview, she remarked, “I’m a very jolly good fellow which nobody can deny.”
Yes indeed, that broke the ice, and she was a very fun individual. Chiu recounted how even as a kid, she was motivated and encouraged to be an entertainer as she was frequently asked to dance on the table. And dance up there, she did.
After graduating in college, Apple wanted to pursue her singing career. Then a Philippine Idol came that led her to be at Singing Bee. Chiu also auditioned for Miss Saigon twice but missed the final audition.
Apple’s success in show business is evident because she is super busy these days in hosting morning show “Pambansang Almusal”, which tackles everything under the sun such as family, food that will jumpstart the day. Plus she also hosts “Letters and Music” which features all original Filipino music performed by known artists and newcomers in the music scene. Both programs are on Net25 produced by Eagle Broadcasting Corporation. And lastly, Chiu has a late afternoon gig as DJ Apple at “95.5 Pinas FM” (Home of the OPM).

In addition, when I asked her, “Where do you get your super human energy?”, Apple replied, “It’s a God given talent and I pray before hosting and always ask for the strength that I need. And I thank God”.
Apple’s advice to those who want to be in Showbiz is this: “Follow your heart and follow your dreams, as what Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach said, and make sure you do something to attain your dreams.
