Former SolCom chief named new PHL Army commanding general

(Eagle News) — The Philippine Army has a new commanding general.

This was after President Rodrigo Duterte appointed Lt. Gen. Gilbert Gapay to the post vacated by Lt. General Macairog Alberto, who is set to retire on December 6.

Gapay headed the Southern Luzon command prior to his appointment.

His designation is approved effective December 6.
