(Eagle News) — A former Cebu City prosecutor was shot dead on Thursday, Jan. 17.
The police said Mary Ann Castro was driving her Nissan Juke on Escario St. when a man on board a motorcycle drove beside her and shot her several times at 9:53 p.m.
Castro was able to drive her vehicle a few meters after she was attacked until it hit a fence.
Authorities are so far looking into the cases Castro worked on in the past.
The police said they were also looking into her past relationship with a policeman, who was killed by authorities in a buy-bust operation in Tagbilaran, Bohol in June.
Castro served as assistant prosecutor for more than ten years until she resigned in 2017 after she was suspended twice.
