(Eagle News) — The European Union expressed readiness to provide the Philippines with assistance amid the onslaught of Typhoon “Ompong” that left at least 50 dead.
“The EU Delegation expresses its sincerest sympathies to the victims and to those severely affected by typhoon Ompong,” the EU delegation in Manila said in a statement.
“Ompong” left 59 people dead, the Philippine National Police said.
Over 500,000 were affected by the typhoon, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council said.
“Ompong” left the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Saturday night.
