Employees with parental responsibilities may avail 15 days leave

QUEZON City, Philippines – Senator Joel Villanueva is proposing to give employees in the public and private sector with parental responsibilities additional 15 days leave through his Senate Bill 1064 or Parenat Leave for Workers. Senator Villanueva said that there are employees who were forced to not go to work due to their parental responsibilities and face termination and sanctions from their employers. The bill also penalizes employers who will not comply with a Php 25, 000 fine and/or imprisonment of 30 days to 6 months.
