EDSA travel time doubled in the last five years — MMDA

(Eagle News)– Travel time on Epifanio Delos Santos Avenue (EDSA) has doubled in the past five years due to increasing number of vehicles, according to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Traffic started building up early morning nowadays on major roads of Metro Manila.

Among these roads are Marcos Highway, Shaw Boulevard, and Roxas Boulevard.

The looming holidays have made the vehicle volume heavier, with the number of vehicles on the road increasing by 25 percent.

House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, principal author of the Traffic Crisis Bill, earlier admitted that the granting of emergency powers to President Rodrigo Duterte to solve the traffic problem is unlikely to be passed this year.
