Duterte says profanities not aimed at Obama

(Eagle News)– President Rodrigo Duterte on Friday (September 9) clarified that the cusses he phrased out during his pre-departure speech were not directed at United States (US) President Barack Obama.

“You can review the tapes. Hindi ko sinabi,” Duterte said in front of the Filipino community in Indonesia.
The president refers to reports telling that he called Obama a “son of a whore”, which is the English counterpart of the Tagalog swearword he used in his speech.
Duterte added that he already told Obama that he never made the statement and check it.
The controversial pre-departure speech prompted Obama to cancel their scheduled bilateral meeting.
The two leaders however had brief interactions at the ASEAN Summit and East Asian Summit in Vientiane, Laos.
