(Eagle News) — President Rodrigo Duterte is slated to leave for Bangkok, Thailand today, June 21, to attend the 34th Association of Southeast Asian Nations Summit.
According to the Palace, the chief executive is expected to attend a meeting with Thai business groups, and will be at the ASEAN Leaders’ Interface with representatives of ASEAN Inter-parliamentary assembly.
On Saturday, June 22, the President will attend a gala dinner after the 34th ASEAN plenary, and on Sunday, June 23, the ASEAN Leaders’ retreat and the 13th Brunei-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area Summit.
The Palace said a bilateral meeting with Thailand’s leader is also possible.
Foreign Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr., Social Welfare Secretary Rolando Bautista, Finance Secretary Carlos Dominguez, Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon Lopez, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade, and Agriculture Secretary Emmanuel Piñol are expected to accompany Duterte in his trip.
This is Duterte’s third trip to Thailand since he assumed the presidency.
