Duterte condemns killing of 16-year-old Cebu student

(Eagle News)—President Rodrigo Duterte on Wednesday, March 13, expressed outrage over the killing of a 16-year-old student in Cebu.

Duterte made known how he felt about the killing of Christine Silawan, who was stabbed multiple times and whose head had been skinned, in a speech during a campaign rally in Cauayan, Isabela.

“Pero ngayon kita mo naman bata, ni-rape…rape-in yung five-year-old na bata ng pari, [at] kahapon may pinatay ang mga pu***g *na niya binalatan ‘yung mukha. Tapos yung iba four months old,” Duterte said, after talking about the government’s fight against illegal drugs and criminality.

Silawan’s lifeless body was found in a vacant lot in Lapu-Lapu on Monday, March 13.

The police have said they were looking for the three men who were last seen with Silawan, a Grade 9 student.

The Department of Education has condemned the slay, and reminded schools anew to tighten their security to ensure the safety of students.
