(Eagle News)–Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon on Thursday, Nov. 21, apologized to Bases Conversion and Development Authority (BCDA) president Vince Dizon for saying his father-in-law was late national artist Bobby Mañosa.
Drilon made the apology in an interview over ANC, a day after he slammed the government’s P50-million cauldron to be used in the Southeast Asian Games.
The cauldron was supposed to have been designed by Mañosa.
Dizon, on the other hand, is in charge of some facilities to be used for the regional games.
“They are not related. I was wrong in my information. I apologize to Dizon,” Drilon said.
Speaker Alan Cayetano, chair of the Philippine Southeast Asian Games Committee (Phisgoc) Foundation Inc., defended the construction of the cauldron, saying it would showcase the country even after the games, and was even cheaper than the one built by Singapore.
He said Singapore’s was priced at P63 million.
