DOLE studies deployment ban in the Middle East

QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Department of Labor and Employment is studying the possibility of implementing a deployment ban of overseas Filipino workers in the Middle East.

Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III said that this was in light of the agency receiving numerous reports of abuse on OFWS there.

Bello said if it was not a total deployment ban, it was possible the agency would just reduce the number of OFWs deployed to the Middle East.
