QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — Expect higher wages before the end of the year.
According to Labor Undersecretary Joel Maglunsod, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III ordered the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards to start discussing about the possibility of a general wage increase.
Maglunsod said that the wage boards were asked to iron out an across-the-board wage increase even if there was no official petition from laborers.
