QUEZON City, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Department of Justice (DOJ) will start in December its preliminary investigation on the complaint filed against Senator Leila De Lima and others for their alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade in the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).
According to Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II, the preliminary probe will start on December 2 and will be led by by Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Peter Ong.
After conducting the preliminary investigation, DOJ will forward its findings to the Office of the Ombudsman.
