DOJ panel to CIDG: Provide complete addresses of Robredo, other respondents in sedition complaint

(Eagle News)–The panel of prosecutors tasked to conduct a preliminary probe into the sedition complaint filed against Vice President Leni Robredo and others has ordered the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group to provide the complete addresses of the respondents of the complaint.

Justice Undersecretary  Markk Perete, Department of Justice spokesperson, said the directive to the acting complainant was contained in an order issued by the panel on Wednesday, July 24.

According to Perete, the panel noted that the complaint over the Ang Totoong Narcolist videos against President Rodrigo Duterte’s family filed before it does not say the  respondents’ complete addresses.

“The missing information has made it difficult for the Panel to cause service of the subpoenae to respondents,” Perete said.

The basis of the complaint was the affidavit of acting witness Peter Joemel Advincula, who  was also included as a respondent.

Advincula had argued he was forced to tell “lies” about Duterte’s family and close associates by members of the opposition under Project Sodoma.

Apart from Robredo, facing the complaint were lawyers Chel Diokno and Romy Macalintal, Antonio Trillanes IV, Senator Leila de Lima, and several priests, among others.

Charges for libel, cyber libel, estafa and harboring a criminal were also filed against them.
