DOJ panel issues subpoena vs one of those charged in P1.8-billion shabu shipment

(Eagle News)–A Department of Justice panel has directed one of those charged in connection with the P1.8-billion shabu shipment seized in March to appear before it for the preliminary investigation.

Julie Hao Gamboa was ordered to appear  on  July 5 and July 10 at 2 p.m., through her counsel Atty. Ciprialo Robielos III.

The subpoena was signed by Senior Assistant State Prosecutor Clarisa Kuong, Assistant State Prosecutor Noel Antay Jr., and Assistant State Prosecutor Rodan Parrocha.

Others charged in connection with the shipment are Xu Zhi Jian also called Jacky Co, who was accused by Senator Panfilo Lacson of being behind the shipment in a privilege speech; Fe Tamayosa; Alvin Bautista; Jane Abello Castillo; Carlo Dale Zueta; Abraham Torecampo; Arwin Caparros; Leonardo Sucaldito; Mark Leo Magpayo; Brian Pabilona; Meldy Sayson; Rhea Tolosa; Edgardo Dominado; Jerry Siguenza and Debbie Joy Aceron.

The shipment was seized by a joint operation from the PDEA and teams from the Bureau of Customs and the Philippine Coast Guard on March 22, based on a tip provided by their Vietnamese counterparts.
