DOJ files 295 counts of inciting to rebellion against alleged female Maute-ISIS recruiter

QUEZON CITY, Philippines (Eagle News) — The Department of Justice filed a total of 295 counts of inciting to rebellion against Karen Aisha Hamidon, an alleged recruiter for the Maute-ISIS.

The rebellion charges were filed before the Taguig City Regional Trial Court

Hamidon was arrested in her residence in Taguig City last October 11 for trying to recruit four Indian nationals who are visiting the Philippines.

The widow of the slain Islamist militant leader, Ansarul Khalifa Philippines leader Mohammad Jaafar Maguid was also charged for using social media in recruiting people to join the war in Marawi City.

Since her arrest, Hamidon has been detained at the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) headquarters in Manila.
