DOH: 1,619 health workers infected with COVID-19, with 33 deaths, 250 recoveries

(Eagle News) – The number of health workers infected with COVID-19 has risen to 1,619, the Department of Health (DOH) reported on Thursday, April 30.

In a virtual presser, DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said these includes 604 nurses, 557 doctors, 99 nursing assistants, 63 medical technologists, 31 radiologic technologists, 17 respiratory therapists, 18 midwives, and 13 pharmacists.

The department also reported 33 COVID-19 related deaths among health workers, including 24 doctors and seven nurses.

On the other hand, the number of healthcare workers who recovered from the disease is at 250.
