ANAHEIM, United States (Reuters) – The cast and crew of “Cars 3” turned out for the film’s premiere in Anaheim on Saturday (June 10).

Owen Wilson, Armie Hammer and Kerry Washington were joined by Larry The Cable Guy, Cristela Alonzo, Nathan Fillion, John Ratzenberger as well as executive producer John Lassiter and the film’s director, Brian Fee.

Although this is his first time in the director’s chair, the threequel is not the first Disney-Pixar film for Fee who previously worked on Wall-E, Cars and Ratatouille.

After losing his racing title to Jackson Storm, voiced by Hammer, along with a new generation of high tech racers, “Cars 3” sees many begin to wonder if the famous Lightning McQueen, again voiced by Wilson, will retire after he endures a terrible crash.

McQueen’s sponsor, Rust-eze, is bought by Sterling, voiced by Fillion, who wants to turn him into a racing brand.

Lightning asks for a chance to race in the Florida 500 and begins to train with race technician Cruz Ramirez, voiced by Alonzo, who’s always had her own racing dreams.

“Cars 3” hits theaters on June 16 with previews on June 15.
