(Eagle News)–The Department of the Interior and Local Government has reminded local government units that the gatepasses issued to each household so they could buy their basic needs are free of charge.
Interior Secretary Eduardo Año issued the reminder amid reports some barangays were charging their constituents for the same.
In an advisory, Año also reminded LGUs that frontliners, upon presentation of their identification card that shows their places of residence, shall not be required to present other types of ID.
He also reminded LGUs to observe social distancing in the distribution of relief goods.
The barangay chair was also enjoined to mobilize all barangay tanods and barangay health emergency response team members to help prevent the spread of the coronavirus disease 2019.
