President Rodrigo Duterte will exercise his power to review dismissed cases against drug lords.
According to Philippine National Police Chief Ronald dela Rosa, this was Duterte’s assurance himself after Philippine Military Academy graduation rites on Sunday.
Duterte made the statement after a first panel of prosecutors junked the drug cases against self-confessed drug distributor Kerwin Espinosa and others, citing a “dearth of evidence.”
Dela Rosa noted he also received information that prosecutors were set to dismiss a case against the alleged operators of a busted “mega-shabu laboratory” in Virac, Catanduanes.
“Dapat magtutulong-tulungan kami, buong gobyerno… hindi maghahanapan ng butas para sa ikaka-dismiss ng kaso,” he said.
“Kami nagpapakamatay sa laban na ito..kahit hanggang saan aabot hindi namin tatakbuhan..come what may..,” he added.
