(Eagle News) — The chief of the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) Dionisio Santiago has already submitted his letter of irrevocable resignation to Malacanang, according to reports.
This was after he spoke out against the construction of the mega drug rehabilitation center in Nueva Ecija saying this was an ill-advised move, and after a recent reorganization at the Dangerous Drugs Board itself.
Malacanang is yet to acknowledge that it has received Santiago’s resignation,
The latest news from DDB was about the recent appointments made by President Rodrigo Duterte that brought changes to the Board headed by Santiago early this month.
This was the appointment of former Deputy Executive Director for Operations Earl Saavedra as Executive Director of DDB, and the appointment of Maria Belen Angelita Matibag as Deputy Executive Director for Operations.
“The DDB also welcomed Jose Marlowe Pedregosa, who was appointed as Undersecretary, thereby completing the set of three Permanent Members of the Board,” a news release from the Board said.
“All three officials took their oath before the DDB Chairman, Secretary Dionisio Santiago, on Thursday, 02 November 2017,” it added.
The DDB website also said that DDB chairman Santiago was grateful for the changes in the organization.
“Everyone is determined to do their part in pursuing the mission of the DDB,” he said in a statement posted on the DDB website. (Eagle News Service)
