(Eagle News)–Daraga, Albay Mayor Carlwyn Baldo, who has been tagged by police as the mastermind in the killing of Rep. Rodel Batocabe, was rushed to the hospital following his arrest for alleged illegal possession of firearms on Tuesday, Jan. 22.
According to the police, Baldo’s blood pressure shot up and he hyperventilated while inside his detention cell in Albay on Tuesday night.
Baldo was reportedly rushed to a hospital in Legazpi at 11 p.m.
Police have filed murder and frustrated murder charges against Baldo in connection with the killings of Batocabe and his bodyguard, and the injuries sustained by several other people in the attack against the congressman in December last year.
Also charged in connection with what police have touted as a politically motivated incident were six others.
On Tuesday, police confiscated from Baldo two cal. 45 pistols, a magazine for an Uzi loaded with ammunition, ammunition for a grenade launcher; eight live ammunition for a cal. 45; and live ammunition for an M16.
A white Isuzu Alterra was also seized.
