Comelec places Daraga, Albay and Cotabato under its control

(Eagle News)–The Commission on Elections has placed under its control Daraga, Albay and Cotabato ahead of the 2019 elections.

In placing these areas under its direct control and supervision, the Comelec cited what it said were  incidents that could also affect the conduct of the Bangsamoro Organic Law plebiscite slated in January and next month.

Rep. Rodel Batocabe was killed in what police said was a politically motivated crime in Daraga in December last year.

On Dec. 31, Cotabato, on the other hand, was rocked by an explosion that left several dead.
