Cloudy skies to prevail today as southwest monsoon affects Northern, Central Luzon

(Eagle News)–Cloudy skies will prevail in the country today, Sept. 8, as the southwest monsoon affects Northern and Central Luzon.

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Ilocos Region, Cordillera Administrative Region, and Cagayan Valley will have cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms.

Flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms are possible.

The rest of the country, on the other hand, will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers due to localized  thunderstorms.

Northern Luzon and the western section of Central Luzon will have strong winds and rough coastal waters, while Visayas and the rest of Luzon will have moderate to  to strong winds and moderate to rough coastal waters.

Mindanao will have  light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters.
