(Eagle News) — Security in around the Philippine National Police headquarters in Camp Crame, Quezon City will be heightened following confirmed reports that Korean businessman Ji Ick-Joo was killed inside its premises.
All CCTV recordings inside Camp Crame will be reviewed, according to PNP Spokesperson Police Senior Supt. Dionard Carlos.
They are now coordinating with the PNP headquarters support service to review all CCTV recordings taken on October 18 and 19 2016, when the Korean was abducted and later taken in Camp Crame.
They will particularly check the CCTV recordings in Gate 2 where the vehicles used by the group of SPO3 Ricky Sta. Isabel passed through.
But they feared some of the recordings might have been erased or was overwritten as most of the CCTV footages are only kept for a maximum of one month.
According to a statement of one of the suspects, SPO4 Roy Villegas, the Korean businessman was killed inside his black Ford Explorer around 10 p.m. of October 18.
The vehicle was owned by Ji Ick-Joo himself and was taken by the police suspects led by SPO3 Sta. Isabel, along with the kidnapped Korean national.
Sta. Isabel parked the car near the office of the PCRG and the PNP’s Public Information Office.
Villegas stated in his statement that Sta. Isabel killed Ji by placing a masking tape over his face, and then strangled him until he died.
Carlos said the PNP will do its best to gather the evidence that would convict Sta. ISabel and the other police suspects.
