(Eagle News)-Talisay, Agoncillo, Laurel and San Nicolas are the towns in Batangas that were most affected by the activity in Taal.
The Batangas Public Information Office added so far, 13883 individuals or 2534 families in the province have been affected, and a total evacuation was still ongoing.
The PIO said those in the vicinity of the volcano, however, have already been evacuated even before an alert level 4 had been hoisted over the volcano.
Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office chief Joselito Castro said heavy ashfall was so far causing zero visibility in many areas, prompting authorities to be unable to locate some recorded vehicular accidents.
An alert level 4 means an explosive eruption of Taal was imminent.
As of past 3 a.m., Taal spewed lava fountains, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology said.
