At least nine hurt after portion of condo complex in Davao collapses

(Eagle News) –At least nine people were  injured after a portion of a condominium complex in Davao City collapsed following a 6.5-magnitude earthquake in Mindanao, Davao Mayor Sara Duterte said.

In a televised interview with reporters, Duterte said of the nine hurt in the incident at Ecoland 4000, eight were treated on-site and one was rushed to the hospital.

Duterte said authorities were still sweeping the area to check if there were any other casualties.

According to Duterte, barring any other strong tremor, she would recommend the resumption of classes to Tuesday, Nov. 5.

Meanwhile, rescue operations are ongoing in Kidapawan after Eva’s hotel collapsed due to the earthquake that came two days after another strong one hit the area.

Tuesday’s earthquake left at least ten people dead and scores injured.
